Cookies, and what you can turn off

The short version

We use one strictly necessary cookie to remember what you told us about the others. Everything else (analytics, advertising measurement) is optional, off by default, and set only if you say yes. Saying no costs you nothing: the site works identically either way, and we will not ask again for six months.

Your choices, and changing them

The first time you visit, a bar appears at the bottom of the page with three options: accept everything, reject everything optional, or manage each category separately. Nothing optional loads until you choose. Closing the bar without choosing is treated as a refusal.

You can change your mind whenever you like, open your cookie settings, or use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it, which is what the law requires and, more to the point, what is fair.

Strictly necessary cookies

These do not need your consent because the site cannot do what you asked without them. There is one.

Analytics cookies

Set only if you accept the Analytics category. They tell us which pages get read and how people move through the site. We do not use them to identify you, and IP addresses are truncated before they are stored.

Advertising cookies

Set only if you accept the Advertising category. They let us measure whether our advertising actually works, and let those platforms show you our adverts elsewhere. This is the category most people refuse, and that is entirely reasonable.

Where a tool is loaded through Google Tag Manager, Tag Manager itself sets no cookies, it is a container that decides which of the above are allowed to run, and it is told your choice before it does anything.

Google Fonts

Our pages load two typefaces, Outfit and Inter, from Google Fonts. That request tells Google's servers your IP address and which browser you are using, because any request to any server does. It sets no cookie, and Google states the fonts service does not use the data for advertising or profiling. It happens whatever you choose above, because the site needs the fonts to render. If you would rather it made no external request at all, the fonts can be self-hosted, ask us and we will change it.

Where your data goes

If you accept analytics or advertising, data is processed by Google, Meta, LinkedIn or Microsoft, all of which are based in the United States. Those transfers rely on the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or on standard contractual clauses where the framework does not apply. If you refuse both optional categories, none of these companies receives anything about your visit apart from the Google Fonts request described above.

The brand sites are separate

This policy covers nord-group.co.uk only. ArcticNord, EmberNord, AuraNord and ZenithNord each have their own website, and those sites run their own analytics and booking tools with their own cookie notices. A choice you make here does not carry across to them, and theirs does not carry back. Check the policy on whichever site you are actually on.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every mainstream browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a do-not-track or tracking-prevention setting that goes further than any banner. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies wholesale will not break this site.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit using Google's browser add-on, and out of interest-based advertising through the preferences pages of Meta, LinkedIn and Microsoft directly.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove a tool, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. If the change materially affects what we do with your data, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume the old answer still stands.
